Create a Vision

Creating a vision for your child helps you focus on what behaviors are misbehaviors and what are unmet needs. In this way, you will be able to make decisions that will keep your child on a path to success as they navigate childhood and early adulthood.

1.

Create a Vision for each child

Now that you have a Mission Statement, you are clear on your family values and know what legacy you want to leave in the world. You’re standing on solid ground and are ready to create a Vision for each of your children.

4.

You can leave it at that or you can take it a step further and create a complete picture.

Use your family’s mission statement as your guide if you like. Once you have a vision for each child, you will know why you are giving a consequence for misbehavior!

5.

One more thing.

You’ve just done a lot of work. You’ve created a foundation on which you can build the family you dreamed of having. And being a mom is getting easier because of that hard work. So do something nice for yourself.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Go for a walk
  • Have some tea outside
  • Get into nature
  • Have a date night
  • Take a long shower
  • Call a friend
  • Write in a journal
  • Read something just for fun
  • Take a nap
